As a member of UNESCO Associated Schools Network (ASPnet), our school participated in the school year 2022-23 in the global initiative "Gift A Poem", which was organized by the Polish National Commission for UNESCO in cooperation with the Zbigniew Herbert Foundation and with the support of UNESCO, on the occasion of the 70th anniversary of the Network. The Greek ASPnet Network participated in the initiative with 40 schools, the largest number of participants worldwide.
On Monday 12 February 2024, in an international online event with the participation of the International Coordinator of the ASPnet-UNESCO Network Ms Julie Saito and following an invitation from the National Coordinator of the Network Ms. Dilari, Ralleio, Ralleio “Gift A Poem” project was presented as a good practice representing Greece. The project was presented by Ms Katerina Christodoulou, Ralleio UNESCO ASPnet teacher-coordinator, who designed and coordinated the project at the school, and B class student Vasiliki Panagopoulou, who shared her experience of participating in the project. Mrs Christodoulou presented the method by which the global initiative was taken a step further to be integrated into the daily teaching practice of four languages at Ralleio. Particularly positive comments were expressed by Mrs. Maria Dzieduszycka, Professor of Literature and President of the "Zbigniew Herbert Foundation", on the method of integrating the initiative in the daily teaching practice designed by Ms Christodoulou, which is linked to the new UNESCO Framework for "Culture and Arts Education".
