Following an official invitation from Ionian University and Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, our school's project "Rebetiko: Interdisciplinary proposal for the integration of Intangible Cultural Heritage in everyday teaching practice" as well as the UNESCO-European Union pilot project "Teaching & Learning with Living Heritage" focusing on the integration of Intangible Cultural Heritage in school education were presented at the CIOFF® International Festival of Mediterranean Cultures that took place in Corfu from 6 to 10 September 2023, under the auspices of H.M. the President of the Republic Katerina Sakellaropoulou.

The first lecture was in English and took place on 6th September (via ZOOM) during the afternoon session of the International Scientific Conference on "Music and Dance in the Mediterranean as intangible cultural heritage and fields of osmosis. Cultural spatialities and historical temporalities”. The International Scientific Conference was organized by the Ionian University and the Greek National Section CIOFF® (International Council of Organizations of Folklore Festivals and Folk Art).

The second lecture, accompanied by a hands-on workshop, was in Greek and took place on September 8th in the framework of the 1st Seminar of Greek Traditional Dances, co-organized by the Greek National Section of CIOFF® and the Department of Physical Education and Sports Science (Laboratory of Sports, Tourism and Recreation Management) of the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki.

The project for Rebetiko was designed and implemented in the framework of the Joint UNESCO-EU Pilot Project "Teaching & Learning with Living Heritage" focusing on the integration of Intangible Cultural Heritage in school education, in which our school, as a member of UNESCO ASPnet, was selected by the two international organizations to represent Greece, submitting its candidacy with The MED Project. Rebetiko project (2019-2021) was designed and coordinated by the English Language teacher Aikaterini-Katerina Christodoulou and implemented by the following teachers: D. Angelidakis (Computer Science), Dr. D. Christopoulos (Greek Language), E. Kakoyannis (Physical Education) and Aikaterini-Katerina Christodoulou (English Language). Ralleio was represented at both events of CIOFF® International Festival of Mediterranean Cultures by Ms Aikaterini-Katerina Christodoulou, English teacher at the school and UNESCO certified educator for the integration of Intangible Cultural Heritage in school education. Ms Christodoulou was the author of both lectures and the coordinator of the hands-on workshop.
