Twenty A class students participated in the program which was coordinated by Mr Dimitris Christopoulos (Greek Language and Literature Teacher) with the assistance of Ms Kalliope Bechraki (Greek Language and Literature Teacher). Selected chapters of the book were read and discussed with the help of creative writing activities worksheets.

The main axes of the program were:

• The philosophical background of the novel
• The narrative techniques
• The literary contrast between the two main characters
• The influence of the novel on modern Greek fiction
• The writer?s ideas
• The Cretan dialect.
