On Sunday 5th March 2023, A class students attended the 1st Awareness Event on Neurosciences “The brain and computers” held at Eugenides Foundation. The event was organized by Neuroholics, a group of postgraduate students at the International Master’s Program on Neurosciences of the University of Athens, in the framework of Brain Awareness Week 2023.
The students had the opportunity to attend lectures by distinguished scientists regarding the use of computers in the treatment of neurological disorders (brain interface technology) as well as introductory presentations about the nervous system, motion control and the senses, combining school knowledge with modern science. The students also had the opportunity to observe brain models and tissue cuts under the microscope in order to understand the structure of the brain while discussing with lecturers who answered their queries.
The event was concluded with the announcement of the awards of the scientific collage competition entitled “The brain and computers”. Congratulations are in order to Eirini Sarigianni-Kassero who was awarded second prize.
