Various athletic activities were organized at Ralleio in the framework of National School Sports Day 2024 on Wednesday 16th October in cooperation with the Sports Office of Hellenic Coast Guard. We learned new things, we played various sports, and we danced with former athletes, champions and Olympic medalists who are now Hellenic Coast Guard Officers, namely Ms G. Ellinaki (Polo Olympic medalist), Mr E. Hamamidis (Kick boxing champion), Ms K. Menelaou (Panathinaikos basketball international champion), Ms K. Kamara (international Panathinaikos basketball player), Ms V. Karantasiou ( Beach Volley Olympic medalist) and Mr C. Polychroniou (Track and Field champion).
The athletes were introduced to the students at Ralleio amphitheater, where they had the opportunity to answer students’ questions both about sports in general and about a career in the Hellenic Coast Guard. Later, the students played sports (basketball and volleyball, kickboxing and track and field) in teams and groups under the guidance of the Officers. At the end of the day, gifts were exchanged. Ralleio students offered the athletes a hand drawn banner with the logo of the Sports Office of Hellenic Coast Guard, while the Sports Office offered the school athletic equipment. Finally, Ralleio students danced traditional dances to bid the Officers farewell.
