On Monday 13 February 2023, C1 and C4 class students had the opportunity to attend a two-hour awareness-raising workshop on sustainable development and climate change by Mr. Xanthidis, Chemist and postgraduate student of the Department of Earth Sciences of the University of Utrecht. The students completed a questionnaire before and after the activity, worked in groups and attended a specially designed presentation aimed at understanding the different ecological values that support the acknowledgement of Nature's Rights. As part of the workshop, the students reflected on issues related to the lack of acknowledging the intrinsic value of nature and the environmental dead end this leads to, and to how environmental awareness can become our most important ally against climate change.
