Ralleio Geniko Lykeio Thilieon Peiraia and the Panhellenic Association of Bioscientists organized the 13th Biology Conference “Society meets modern Biology” at Ralleio amphitheater on the 15th and 16th March 2019.
The conference was attended by a large number of teachers and students from the wider area of Peiraias.
The lectures were held as follows:
Friday 15th March 2019:
“The importance of the environment on human health”, Apostolos Vandarakis, Professor of Hygiene at the Medical School of the University of Patras, “The dubious future of antibiotics: from the golden age of antibiotics to antibiotic-resistant microbes”, Anna Psaroulaki, Assistant Professor of Microbiology at the Laboratory of Clinical Microbiology and Microbial Pathogenesis at the Medical School of the University of Crete, «Εndocrine Disrupters: their influence on the development and function of human organism and the entailing risks”, Antonis Stamatakis, Associate Professor of Biology and Biology of Behaviour at the Department of Nursing of the University of Athens.
Saturday 16th March 2019:
“Personalised Medicine”, Georgios Patrinos, Professor of Pharmaceutical Genomics and Pharmaceutical Biotechnology at the Pharmaceutical Department of the University of Patras, “Looking for traces of life in the Universe”, Elias Chatzitheodoridis, Associate Professor at the School of Mining Engineering and Metallurgy of the National Technical University of Athens.
Both teachers and students had the opportunity to talk to the lecturers and pose questions.
