C4 Training Activity of the European program ERASMUS+ΚΑ2 Climate Change Ready (CCR) took place in Slovenia from 11 to 15 March 2019, in which two Ralleio teachers participated, namely Ms H. Kaneletopoulou, CCR Coordinator and Mr D. Chalikias, member of CCR pedagogical team.
C4 participants visited the Recycling Center in Sinja Gorica, Bhrinka, where they were informed about recycling and water cleaning processes. They also visited the center shop where reusable and recyclable items can be purchased. Then, they went to the facilities of the organizing school, Os Ivana Cankaja Bhrnika, where they were informed by a representative of NGO Ecologists Without Borders about the work of the organization and about zero waste methods.
Participants also visited Brestanica, where they were guided to Rajhensburg Castle and visited the power plant at Krsko. At the plant, CCR teachers were informed about power production methods with the use of interactive boards and attended workshops organized by the educational programs officer of the plant, who readily answered all their queries.
Participants went on to enjoy a visit of lake Bled and Zero Waste Hotel, the first zero waste hotel in Slovenia, where they were shown their method of operation. C4 Training Activity week ended with a visit to Piran, the only coastal resort town of Slovenia, where participants enjoyed a guided tour of both the town and Salina Nature Park. In the area, there are salt flats where salt is produced using traditional methods without the use of machinery, as well as a Natura 2000 wetland.
During the meeting, partner school coordinators discussed organizational matters and agreed to use the Portuguese proposal as CCR logo.
