A team of 19 A and B class Ralleio Lykeio students and 25 Ralleio Junior High School Ralleio students visited Portugal from the 20th to the 25th of March 2018 formally invited by ESERO (European Space Education Resource Office), part of ESA (European Space Agency).

The team was headed by Ms V. Kyrou, EFL teacher in Junior High School Ralleio and Mr D. Aggelidakis, Assistant Director in Ralleio Lykeio, and accompanied by N. Arfanakos, G. Anagnostopoulos and M. Psoma, teachers at both schools. This trip gave the students the opportunity to better understand the diversity of another European civilization and language and to acquire the necessary skills for their personal development and their international “identity”.

More particularly:

Day 1: Lisbon-Porto. On the way we stopped to Coimbra where we visited the University facilities and River Montego.

Day 2: Guided tour of Porto.

Day 3: Trip to Aveiro and guided tour of Lisbon.

Day 4: Visit to the Technological Park of Lisbon and participation to the educational program of Portuguese Εsero (European Space Education Resource Office). Visit to Park of Nations, to the monastery of Jeronimos, built in memory of Vasco da Gama, to the monument of Discoveries and to the Tower of Belem, which is a UNESCO cultural heritage monument.

Day 5: Trip to Sindra, another UNESCO cultural heritage monument, to Cascais, to Estoril and to Cabo da Roca, the westernmost European landmark.

Day 6: Visit to Praça de Entrecampos and Campo Pequeno, trip to the airport and departure for Athens.
