International Holocaust Remembrance Day, is an international memorial day on 27 January commemorating the victims of the Holocaust. It commemorates the genocide that resulted in the death of an estimated 6 million Jewish people, 200,000 Romani people, 250,000 mentally and physically disabled people, and 9,000 homosexual men by the Nazi regime and its collaborators.

Ralleio students and teachers watched the film ?Kiss the children for me? by Greek director Vasilis Loules. The educational-cultural value of the film is significant as it is one the very few Greek films referring to the ?Greek holocaust? that eliminated the Greek Jewish community. The perspective of the film is that of people who were children at the time and focuses on those brave Greek who risked their lives to protect their fellow citizens offering a message of solidarity and comradeship to those ?different?.

The film was introduced by Mr Dimitris Christopoulos, Greek Language and Literature Teacher and writer who also coordinated the event.
