The ceremony took place on Wednesday 25 January 2017 in the auditorium of the school which was full of alumnae of all ages, active and retired teachers of the school, former Directors, many parents and representatives of the local authorities. In a friendly atmosphere we all reminisced about the happy years we have lived in Ralleio.

The Directors of Ralleio Lykeio Dr D. Kalaitzidis and Ralleio Gymnasium Mr T. Maragkozoglou extended a warm welcome to all our guests and talked about the past and the present of the school. Dr Youla Konstantopoulou and Dr Penelope Kapelari, retired Ralleio teachers, talked about the history of the school. Architect Ms Dionysia Kopana, talked about the main design concept and construction of the new building and B5 class students V. Kisapidi and S. Koronaiou presented the findings of the survey conducted by their class about the opinion that the inhabitants of Pireas hold of our historical school. ICT teacher Mr N. Arfanakos presented a mood video with nostalgic images from everyday life at Ralleio. The two Directors also awarded former Directors and Assistant Directors, retired teachers, former PTA Chairpersons and parents who benefited the school in various ways in the past.

Two exhibitions celebrating the 160th anniversary were organized: The Old Books Exhibition at the Library (coordinated by Ms H. Kaneletopoulou) and the Photographic Exhibition at the hall of the 1st floor (coordinated by Ms K. Christodoulou).

We would like to thank all those who honored us with their presence for the celebration of the 160th anniversary of Ralleio. We hope that a new, and bright, chapter begins in our new school building.
