Ralleio Lykeio in collaboration with Teacher Council Dr C. Koumbarou organized a lecture by Mr Mr Pasi Salmela, teacher at Helsingin Rudolf Steiner Koulu, invited by the director of Ralleio Dr Dimitris Kalaitzidis.

Rudolf Steiner schools, also known as Waldorf Schools, are schools with special characteristics such as their collective administration by the body of teachers, the use of innovative teaching techniques and the general philosophy under which they operate. These are the features that Mr Salmela focused on during his lecture as well as on the position of the schools within the Finnish educational system which he also described in detail. Mr Salmela also answered numerous questions by the Greek teachers which led to a lengthy and very productive discussion. The lecture was delivered in English and was simultaneously translated in Greek by Ms Katerina Christodoulou, English Language Teacher at Ralleio.

The event was held under the auspices of the Directorate for Secondary Education of Pireas.
