C class Science students visited the Biomedical Research Foundation, Academy of Athens on 4 March 2015 in order to attend a five-hour educational program. The Biomedical Research Foundation was founded in 2004 and is the most recent innovative research institute in Greece and the only one which combines basic and clinical research. In school year 2003-2004, the Institute started an Educational- Scientific information program for students of secondary education.

Ralleio students attended lectures on neurodegenerative diseases such as Alzheimer?s and Parkinson?s, presentations of advances in Biosciences and Neurobiology pertinent to every- day life, and, finally career advice. They also talked with the Institute researchers about the professional choices connected with Biology such as Nanotechnology, Biophysics, Clinical Genetics, Medical Genetics, Bioethics etc. They also attended experiments based on their school textbooks thus understanding the connection between theory and application.
