The students of B class attended a lecture by the former Dean of the Polytechnic School of Crete Mr G. Grammatikakis entitled ?Singing Stars?. The Professor talked about the connection between Science and Music and about Light, which functions both as a tool and a messenger for deciphering the stars? secrets. We also learned about the ?Hydrogen Song ? which has been used for messages to possible alien civilizations, about ancient myths depicting asterisms and about the birth and the death of stars. We realized that we are all made of the stardust (oxygen, iron and calcium) of a suicidal star. The Professor?s lecture and the spectacular visual presentation were accompanied by the musical improvisations on stage by the musicians Mr Spyros Gikontes and Mr Odysseas Grammatikakis.
