We chose the particular monument to study in this cultural project for one basic reason. It was created by Iktinos, the famous architect of the Temple of Parthenon in the Acropolis of Athens. Very few people know that the Master Iktinos worked with the same passion and delivered another masterpiece in the mountains of Arcadia. The temple has remained almost fully intact after thousands of years.

Our project had two aims. The first one was to learn as much as possible about the moment. Our second aim was to share this information, our experiences and our pride for our cultural heritage with our fellow teachers and students.

The particular project represented our school in the project exhibition which was organized by the UNESCO ASPnet during the meeting of the European and North American National Coordinators in Luxemburg in May 2005. The outcome of the project, which ran for almost a year, was a booklet, a product of teamwork by the Ralleion students under the supervision and coordination of Ms K. Mourginaki (French Teacher) and Ms V. Tsetsekou (Philologist).
