Ralleion Geniko Peiramatiko Lykeio Thileon Pirea, after the initiative and under the coordination of Mr Georgios Katopodis and Mr Panagiotis Markopoulos, Biologists, Biology Teachers in Ralleion, the Panhellenic Association of Bioscientists and the Prefecture of Pireas organised the 3rd Annual Biology Conference ?Society meets Modern Biology? in Pireas on 23rd and 24th January 2009. The conference was organised in collaboration with the Directorate for Secondary Education of Pireas, the Biology Head Teachers of Pireas and the 1st Laboratory Centre of Natural Sciences of Pireas.
The subjects of the conference included a variety of modern Biology issues, such as Environmental Pollution, Environmental Education , Genetically Modified Organisms, Evolution, Biodiversity, Pharmaceutical Genetics etc.
The speakers were distinguished University Professors and Researchers whose work in the field of Biology has been highly acclaimed.
The conference was attended by the local authorities and by many Secondary Education teachers and students from various schools in the prefecture of Pireas.
