C6 Short-Term Staff Training Event was organized by CCR partner school Sant Nicolau Agrupacion Pedagogika in Sabadell, Spain from 29/01 to 01/02/2019. The event was attended by coordinators and teachers from all partner schools, namely:
- Gantzagsschule Jenisch Gymnasium, Germany (coordinating school)
- Osnova sola Ivana Cancarja Vthinka, Slovenia,
- Agrupamento de Escolas de Mem Martins, Portugal,
- Klebelsberg Kuno Altalanos Iskola es Gimnazium, Hungary,
- Sant Nicolau Agrupacion Pedagogika, Spain,
- Ralleio Geniko Lykeio Thileon Peiraia,
Greece Ralleio participants were CCR Coordinator Ms H. Kaneletopoulou and Ralleio Director and member of CCR pedagogical team Mr S. Oikonomidis.
All participants attended lectures on the consequences of climate change on the area of Catalonia at the Catalan Office of Climate Change (http://canviclimatic.gencat.cat/…/oficina_catalana_del_can…/) in Barcelona where they were updated on the various actions of the Office and its contribution to the mediation of climate change, especially in Catalonia.
They visited bioclimatic buildings such as ICTA-ICP (https://ictaweb.uab.cat/edifici.php) in the Autonomous University of Barcelona, in which they were guided by a specialized architect. They also visited buildings constructed with sustainable criteria and/or inspired by natural patterns, such as La Pedrera (https://www.lapedrera.com/en) and the basilica of Sagrada Familia, both by the famous architect Gaudi.
Participants also visited Girona and the Jewish quarter as well as Mount Montserrat where they had the opportunity to admire the particular geomorphology of the mountain and to tour the surrounding area. At the monastery of Mount Montserrat they enjoyed the hymns sung by the children choir of the Musical School located in the monastery.
Finally, they visited the coast of Barcelonetta and the open markets of Barcelona and Sabadell, where they tasted the local cuisine and bought traditional products.
