Ralleio students visited 3 different museums on 3 December 2014 in the framework of the subject of History based on the historical period taught in each class.

arxaiol mous 1 2014In particular, A class students visited the National Archaeological Museum of Athens and were guided not only to the Museum?s permanent exhibition but also to the special exhibition of the Antikythera Mechanism, the ancient analogue computer designed to predict astronomical positions and eclipses which has been dated to about 205 BC. The visit was organised by Ms Anastasia Keskesiadou (Greek Language Teacher)

B class students visited the Byzantine Museum of Athens where they were guided to the permanent exhibition by their History teachers, Ms Panoraia Kolentzou and Ms Aimilia Giourga who also organised the visit. Special focus was placed on the everyday life objects used at Byzantine times.

C class students visited the National Historical Museum of Athens, housed at the Old House of Parliament, where they had the opportunity to admire exhibits of Modern Greek history. The students also visited the buildings of the Athenian Neoclassical Trilogy, namely the National Library, the University and the Academy. The visit was organised by Dr Penelope Kapelari (Greek Language Teacher).
