ERASMUS+ KA2: ROOTS Routes to Outdoor Oriented Teaching and Sustainability (2017-2020)

The two main priorities of the program are providing equal opportunities to all participating students, regardless of background (financial situation, origin, abilities or disabilities) and promoting students? acquisition of skills and competences as learning contents from classroom and text books will be put into practice through outdoor learning activities in the subjects of history, literature, geography, social studies, natural sciences, mother tongue and foreign languages.
Students are expected to improve their language skills and literacy as well as their scientific and digital skills. They are also expected to acquire increased environmental awareness and literacy and awareness of sufficient and healthy nutrition and physical activities.
The influence of the program on the participating schools is expected to be in the creation and development of interdisciplinary lesson plans and in improved fulfilment and elaboration of the objectives of a health promoting school. Teachers are expected to gain the benefits of adopting and sharing good practices.
During the three years of the implementation of the program there will be 3 coordinating meetings in Iceland, Slovenia and Greece, 2 teacher training meetings in Sweden and Slovenia and 4 short-term student exchanges in Iceland, Sweden, Spain and Greece.
